For over 50 years Sir Elliott D. Mottley, KCMG, K.C., LL.D. has been providing distinguished legal services in Barbados.

After completing his studies as a Barrister-at-Law in Middle Temple in England, Sir Elliott returned to Barbados and established his legal practice at “Reece Chambers”, of which he was the principal, in 1961. In 2001, he established Elliott D. Mottley & Co. (“EDM & Co.”), a firm committed to the delivery of the highest quality legal services to local and international clientele alike. EDM & Co. presently employs  ten Attorneys-at-Law and a complement of support staff to ensure the assiduous pursuit of our clients' interests. EDM & Co. represents local, regional, and international institutions in addition to private clients.

The Attorneys at EDM & Co. are attentive to clients' needs, encouraging an active role in achieving objectives  with timely and meaningful representation. Over the years, EDM & Co. has built meaningful and co-operative  relationships with other leading practitioners, domestically and internationally. Our clients are afforded the  most comprehensive and effective representation in resolving their affairs.

While the Firm's principal expertise is in matters governed by Barbados law, it is not uncommon for clients  to face complex multi-jurisdictional legal issues. To this end, our Attorneys are admitted to practice in many  of the regional jurisdictions and can provide the necessary support and representation to clients needing the  same. In the event any member of EDM & Co. is unable to appear, whether based on admission or economy,  we have maintained correspondent relationships with recognized firms to ensure our clients' needs are met.

We are a full-service law practice. In addition to our civil and commercial litigation, our Attorneys have  experience in banking, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, project finance and infrastructure, corporate and commercial law, media and entertainment law, employment law and real estate development  and conveyancing law.
